Clearing courses are open for applications and there is still time to start studying with us this August. Whether you are waiting for your exam results or haven’t made an application yet, we’re here to support you and get you on a course that’s right for you.
The information on this page will help you decide which option is best for you when it comes to clearing and offers advice for existing and new applicants. Depending on your situation you may need to phone our helpline to speak to a member of the team, or you may be able to apply online.

Course Clearing Helpline
Our Course Clearing Helpline will be open on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 August from 10am – 4pm.
The helpline is for anyone who:
- Has already applied for a course but would like to speak to someone about their options after receiving their exam results.
- Has changed their mind about their original choice of course.
- Has not yet applied but wants to start a course in 2021/22.
The Course Clearing Helpline will give you an opportunity to speak to our team about your application and course options for study in session 2021/22.

Existing applications
If you’ve already made an application, you may need to change it if you have not met your conditions or if you have decided you want to study a different course.
You will need to speak to a member of the team during our Course Clearing Helpline opening times. You won’t be able to change an application online.
I’ve received my exam results and met my conditions
If you’ve already made an application you will have received an unconditional or conditional offer. If you have a conditional offer and meet those conditions when you receive your exam results you will receive an email with an unconditional offer. If you accepted your conditional offer your unconditional offer will automatically be accepted.
Our team will be working through all offers from Tuesday 10 August.
I’ve received my exam results but have not met my conditions
If you haven’t met the conditions of your offer, there are still options available to you. Get in touch with us on our Course Clearing Helpline and a member of our team will be able to offer advice on your next steps. We will always aim to get you on to a suitable course at a suitable level, that will help you achieve your ambitions.
I would like to change my application
If you have already made an application and have decided you would like to change your application to a different course or area of study, you can do this by phoning our Course Clearing Helpline on 16 and 17 August. A member of the team will be able to advise what options are available to you.
New applications
I would like to make a new application
If you have not yet made an application and would like to, now that you’ve received your exam results, you can do this on our website at any time. You do not need to make an application through our Course Clearing Helpline, but you can phone if you would like to speak to someone about your course options.

I would like to apply for an Advanced Higher, Higher or National 5
Advanced Higher, Higher and National 5 courses will open from 10 August 2021. If you would like to apply for one of these courses, you can make an application online on our website from 10 August.
