As part of the College’s commitment to supporting students to stay safe during the festive period, all learning and teaching at Edinburgh College will be delivered online from Monday 7 December until the end of term (Friday 18 December).
This arrangement is being implemented, in line with Scottish Government guidance, to help students who are returning home over Christmas to do so safely and to enable them to reduce their social mixing for two weeks beforehand.
Whilst the majority of courses at the College have been online for semester one of session 2020/21, due to the ongoing pandemic, the limited number of courses which had face-to-face classes on campus will move to online only delivery for the final two weeks of term.
Our staff are working with the Scottish Government and universities across Edinburgh to help all students who are planning to return home during the Christmas break to do so safely, and to support those students who are staying in Edinburgh.
It’s important that we all take extra care to mitigate the risk of transmission of COVID-19 over the festive period. To help support students, we have published this End of term advice and guidance.
The College’s festive break will begin at 6pm on Friday 18 December 2020 and learning and teaching will resume in the new year. Further information on plans for the resumption of learning and teaching in January 2021 will be available for all students soon.
