An Edinburgh College Associate Trainer has developed and delivered a bespoke course to improve communication and team working following a consultation with a client.
Jacqueline McGregor utilised Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to design a unique team development session to help delegates identify preferred methods of working and communicating and to create action plans to improve those practices in the workplace.
By defining personality type, the MBTI tool builds a robust foundation for lifelong personal development and provides a constructive, flexible and liberating framework for understanding individual differences and strengths.
MBTI is also particularly useful for either team development (i.e. helping the team work cohesively and improve communication) or individual development (e.g. coaching a Leader to develop their leadership skills or an individual to improve their relationship with colleagues or feel more productive etc.)
How does it work?
As part of this course, individual delegates complete a questionnaire which is administered through The Myers-Briggs Company https://eu.themyersbriggs.com/.
This then generates a report which Jacqueline or another Edinburgh College Associate Trainer, as a practitioner, analyses and provides feedback to the individuals either in one-to-one sessions (as part of a coaching session) or to the team as part of a team development session.
During the one-to-one or team sessions, action plans are then devised to help delegates implement key points from the MBTI analysis in their daily work.
