Pathways to University From College

Laptop is open with the Pathways website displayed on the screen.

Pathways is a new web app that can help you find your route to university through an agreed college pathway.

Many college and universities have agreed pathways which are designed to take you seamlessly from college to degree level study. If you know you want to go to university, but would like to study at college first, you can use Pathways to search agreed articulation routes and see if universities will accept your college qualifications for direct entry to second or third year of a degree. Articulation to university is dependent on grades achieved.

The web app currently shows the pathways between colleges and universities in the regions of Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian, West Lothian, Stirling, Clarkmannanshire, Fife, Falkirk and the Scottish Borders.

How Does Pathways Work?

To get started, go to https://www.pathways.ac.uk/

From the homepage, you will be able to search college courses and university courses.

If you know what university course you would like to study you might want to search university courses and work backwards to find out what college courses provide direct entry. You can also search college courses to find out what university courses you can progress to.

You can search for courses using the search function or you can filter by college, university or subject area.

Click on the course you are interested in and you will see pathways between college and university courses. You can then visit the college or university website for more information about the course.

Watch the video below for a demonstration on how the Pathways web app works.
