Student lifts top Scottish rugby title

Edinburgh College student and Edinburgh Eagles rugby player Scott Plumridge has lifted the Scotland Student Rugby League Player of the Year title for 2016. He impressed in last year’s Student Four Nations Series.

Scott has also played for Scotland at Under-19, student and senior level, having won his first cap in the 2015 European Championship.

“There were many great performers at the 2016 Student Four Nations” said Scotland Students head coach Nathan Graham. “But the person who stood out was Scott. Playing primarily in the right centre he was always a handful carrying the ball, and defensively he threw everything he had at the opposition, coming up with some really strong plays. Scott undoubtedly has the potential to play at a high level in rugby league and hopefully, as he plays more and more games, that potential may come to fruition.”
