The Proclaimers took time out of their busy touring schedule to be guests of honour at music charity Drake Music Scotland’s Christmas Concert, hosted at our CRE:8 auditorium.
Drake Music Scotland creates music-making opportunities for people with disabilities and held its Christmas concert at the college for the second year running. The concert showcased the talents of musicians and groups with a range of physical and learning disabilities. The Proclaimers, Craig and Charlie Reid, are patrons of the charity and came to support the event. They presented a Band of the Year prize and watched the performances.
Jon Buglass, head of Creative Industries, said: “We have a strong relationship with Drake Music and work closely with them on our Music Technology programme to provide education and training to students, so we were delighted to support them and host this festive event. It was brilliant to have such a high-profile band involved and coming to the college’s first class music facilities to support the students’ performances.”
