Crazy about Cavendish? Wild about Wiggo? There will be a chance to spot some of the world’s cycling greats outside Edinburgh College’s Milton Road Campus on 9 September as stage four of the Tour of Britain bike race kicks off in Edinburgh.
The official start of stage four is at Holyrood Park at 10 am, with the route passing some of Edinburgh’s famous sites before reaching Milton Road Campus. The race will go up a gear as the riders pass the campus when officials drop the flag there at around 10:20 am. The cyclists will then race through East Lothian and the Scottish Borders and into Northumberland, before reaching the finish line in Blyth. For full details of the route visit the Tour of Britain website.
The race is being covered by ITV4, with three hours of live racing from 1 pm plus a highlights package at 7 pm.
