Aiming for more gold at CDN Marketing Awards

The college has been nominated for four awards in the College Development Network Marketing Awards 2018, which honour the promotional work taking place in Scotland’s colleges.

College projects are up for awards in these categories:

Customer Experience category – STEM P7 Inspiration Experience

The STEM P7 Inspiration Experience is engaging and inspiring young people about learning science, technology, engineering and maths skills, bringing STEM concepts to life. The programme was initiated and piloted by the Engineering team. This has been developed as a transition programme with progression through S1 to S3 in line with our STEM Manifesto aim to create a skills pipeline of learners.
Teaching materials were created by the Design team in the Marketing department and learning technicians in consultation with schools to align with the Curriculum for Excellence. The project has been promoted extensively through DYW networks, local authorities and strategic school groups.

To date more than 2,500 P7 pupils have signed up for the experience and the next phase will see this rolled out to S1 pupils.

Design category – STEM

This recognises the design work for the college’s STEM-specific activities, including the STEM Manifesto, events and marketing promotions. The STEM designs have been implemented across the college’s marketing and communications channels to increase awareness. The work was developed by the Design team.

Integrated Campaign category – Exam Results 2017

The Exam Results 2017 marketing campaign ran between July and August, using social media, email, video, radio and the college website to connect with school leavers during the SQA exam results period.

The campaign message was based around ‘6 Top Tips on How to Survive the Exam Results’. The college’s Marketing team worked with one of our performing arts students to produce digital content for the campaign.

Digital category – Student Funding Tool
The college’s new Student Funding Tool launched on the website in July 2017 to make finding funding information quicker, easier and more personalised to individual applicants. It can also be used by parents or guardians, teachers, career advisers and influencers to help discover more information about funding options available to students.

Congratulations to everyone nominated and good luck for adding to the four gold and two silver awards we have won over the last two years.

The winners will be revealed at CDN Marketing Awards 2018 ceremony on 15 March. You can see the full list of nominees here.
