Twenty-five-year old HND Make-up Artistry student Evelina Matuseviciute will be showcasing her talents in Glow’s Ministry of Make-up, the end-of-year show for Edinburgh College’s Make-up Artistry students. The show will bring the magic of the circus to the college’s PASS Theatre with an array of Big Top inspired make-up looks.
“As part of the first year of our HND course we have to plan and organise our end-of-year show which involves a lot of hard work and responsibility. We want to make sure we do our best and make it a really special night that shows the creativity and skills that we have.
It’s great to be a part of planning something that will ultimately show what we’ve learnt during our time on the course so far. We’re not only getting an opportunity to develop our Make-up Artistry skills but also to learn about putting on events to showcase our work.
I’m really looking forward to the night, the planning is going really well and we are on track – we’ve been working really hard on this as well as our assessments, and I can’t wait to see everything come together.
The course has given me an opportunity to express myself in various ways including being a class rep, taking part in fundraising events, and being a part of Glow festival 2018. I’ve learnt so much more than just Make-up Artistry, including fashion, hairstyling and about the industry as a whole. I’ve had amazing opportunities to meet and learn from professionals working in the industry which has helped to build my confidence. The support from my lecturers has been amazing and I’d like to say thank you to them all for the knowledge they have passed on to us and for their patience.
The Ministry of Make-up is a great opportunity to express our creativity. We’re learning from each other and are working together to put on the best show.”
