Edinburgh College was honoured at the College Development Network’s (CDN) annual Marketing Awards, taking home a Gold, two Silvers and a Bronze award.
The Marketing team scooped Gold in the Design category for materials it produced for the visual identity for the college’s STEM activities, including the STEM Manifesto document and events and marketing material. The STEM designs were created by the in-house design team in Marketing and used across print and digital channels to build an identity and awareness of the college’s STEM work.
A Silver award was achieved in the Integrated Marketing Campaign category for an online exam results campaign, themed as ‘Six top tips on how to survive exam results’. The team partnered with a Performing Arts student, who starred in a series of vlogs aimed at school students.
The team collected another Silver award in the Digital Marketing category. The college’s new Online Funding Tool has improved funding information on the website, making it easier for parents or guardians, teachers, career advisers and influencers to access more personalised funding options.
Finally, a Bronze prize in the Customer Experience Category was given for the college’s P7 STEM Inspiration Experience. Launched in February 2016/17, this project addresses skills shortages in STEM areas. The four-year transition programme brings STEM concepts to life, inspiring pupils in P7 to S3 about career and education opportunities through practical workshops delivered by the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment.
Heather McLean, marketing manager, said: “The event was great opportunity to reward the team’s hard work and to recognise the projects that are making a huge impact across the college. The work that we do on a daily basis aims to increase awareness of the college in the region, encourage applications and improve the student experience. I am very proud of the four awards the team has achieved this year.”
The CDN Marketing Awards took place at the Drygate Brewery in Glasgow last night, with marketing teams from across Scotland recognised for their work in promoting their colleges and further education.
Our team’s win follows another two golds and a silver at last year’s awards, in the Digital Marketing, Customer Experiences and Design categories.
